Rameumptom Ruminations: 107:
Pleasant and restful podcast. I go to church. But, I reserve my beliefs to Joseph Smith’s theology and
Brigham Young;s deep doctrine. Just wanted to say well done. Church has made mistakes, yes, yet, I
see some value in the Church as a Gospel Net. Hope all goes well.

Hi Scott great to hear that you’re back and healthy. I enjoyed your comments in The Best Revenge. It raised a few discussions in our family. The only issue I have is that it remains one sided. As an exmormon I know what life as an active Mormon is but an active Mormon doesn’t know what my life is once I leave. They believe the rhetoric the leaders provide in explaining why people leave – lazy, want to sin, never had a testimony etc but they, including family members, don’t ask why I have left and apart from not wanting to offend or be offended/ arguing, they just don’t ask but remain happy to talk about church and blessings in their lives and of course why they think I left. It’s too one sided. It reminds me of a “vegan joke” – when you as a meat eater invite a vegan couple to dinner you accomodate their diet by preparing a vegan dish just for them but when the dinner date is reciprocated the vegan couple would not think to accommodate a meat eaters diet for their dinner date. That is how the interactions are with family members still active. Looking forward to more meatier episodes. Welcome back. – 🥂John
That’s a great analogy to the exmormon experience with TBM family members. Wow. This is a feeling I’ve had for a long time, but never quite articulated it as well as that. Thank you for the insight.
